Do you fancy yourself as Miss Dublin 2022?
This year Fashion.ie has teamed up with Miss Ireland to sponsor the lucrative Miss Dublin competition where one luck lady will be chosen to represent Dublin & County at this year’s Miss Ireland competition.
Being a Miss Dublin is not all about beauty. It presents so many wonderful opportunities for the lucky winner to promote equality, inclusion and be involved in helping children with disabilities across the island of Ireland through their charitable work.
This Year, Fashion.ie is sponsoring Miss Dublin and we are inviting applicants to register in this year’s competition in what promises to be a life changing experience for the lucky winner.
We spoke with last year’s Miss Dublin winner, Ciara Whelan to find out the difference of being crowned Miss Dublin has changed her life.
Ciara, why did you enter Miss Dublin?
I wanted to build my confidence and meet like-minded women. I went for my initial interview just before COVID hit and completed a zoom one shortly after. I knew then that I was determined to put my all into the journey and I’m so happy I did!

What was your favourite part of the Miss Dublin competition?
Meeting all the girls! Even though everything was through zoom for my year, we built instant friendships and had a network of support. I still talk to the girls from the competition and have since met up with a few of them too!
Charity work was also a massive thing for me. For the Miss Dublin heats, I took part in the No-Makeup Challenge for Variety Ireland in order to raise funds for trikes for children. I spoke about the challenge on Q102, something I had never done before! My confidence skyrocketed after that!

What’s your favourite memory from your overall journey?
Winning the title!! Other than that it would have to be the Miss Ireland orientation day meeting all the other title holders. It was amazing, I had only met these girls via zoom but the minute we all met in person you’d swear we knew each other for years! The friendships alone are something I will always be grateful for!
Would you recommend entering Miss Dublin to a friend?
Yes, one hundred percent. The confidence alone I built from the whole competition is something I will be forever grateful for.
I spoke on radio, for newspaper pieces and on different social media outlets. Before Miss Dublin, I wouldn’t dream of doing any of that. It brought me completely out of my shell and it’s something I will remember forever!
