How to identify the different types of heels. Like diamonds, heels are a girl’s best friend. The right pair can boost your confidence, transform your look and make heads turn when you enter a room.
But how do you know which ones to choose? Whether you’re after extravagant stilettos, elegant pumps or stylish platforms, the fashion world is sure to have you covered.
Here’s your guide to help you identify the most common type of heels.
They may not look super stylish, but block heels will distribute your body weight different than thin heels. They will take pressure off the front of your foot, which makes them more comfortable.
High heels come in all shapes and sizes. Every heel that is more than four inches will fall into this category. The most common type of this heel are pumps, stilettos and heels sandals.
Kitten heels are ideal if you aren’t comfortable walking in sky high heels. They are also great if you are on the taller side but don’t want to abstain from wearing your favourite heels. The heel is typically thin and usually below three inches.
Perfect for the office. Or just when you want some extra height. They are usually between three or four inches tall, making them great work shoes. They won’t put too much strain on the balls of your feet and will improve posture.
It doesn’t get much sexier than a stiletto in the shoe department. But with the height of three or four inches and a very slim heel, these shoes are not for the inexperienced walker.
Ankle Strap Heels
While the heel height and shape can vary, the ankle strap gives extra support and stability, especially on a slimmer heel.
Cone heels are ones that are wider at the top and slimmer at the bottom. They can be used for all types of heeled shoes and come in carious lengths. It is a versatile and timeless design.
Peep Toe Heels
These shoes allow your feet to do some extra flirting by just revealing the tops of your toes.
Platform heels usually have a thicker base beneath the sole of the foot. This adds comfort and a few inches of height. This style of heel is best worn on nights out and other off-the-clock occasions.
