Cindy Crawford has no plans to stop posing nude. Iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford feels better than ever at 53.
She recently joined fellow model and friend Christy Turlington at an event at WWD to discuss ageism and why she has no plans to stop posing nude.
She explained: “We want to show women who are 53, and I think Christy just turned 50, that there’s still beauty in that.”
And this includes ‘tasteful nudes’, with the mother of two posing nude for photographer Russell James’ book, sharing the snaps on her social media account.
“I remember some snarky person on Instagram — there seem to be a lot of those — posted something like, ‘Ah, why are you still doing those at your age?” she recounted.
“And I was like, is there an age where being nude isn’t beautiful? It’s just a different kind of beauty.”
And it’s these negative comments that motivate Crawford.
“That is part of the reason I still do shoots,” she added, admitting that it’s a ‘little harder’ now to get camera ready, saying: “I hope this is politically correct, but sometimes I say I need Viagra for shoots. It’s harder to get it up.”
And clearly, fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell agrees with Crawford’s point of view about posing au natural.
On Thursday, she shared a behind-the-scenes shot from her recent Vogue photoshoot, in which she posed nude with her back to the camera in the midst of the desert in Kenya.
