Naomi Campbell had to learn to love her body

Naomi Campbell had to learn to love her body. She may be one of the most iconic supermodels in history, but Naomi Campbell admits that she’s only become ‘comfortable’ in her body recently.

Much to the surprise of many, Naomi revealed that even she battled with body insecurities until only a few years ago.

Opening up about her body struggles, Naomi told Vogue: “It’s taken me a long time to feel right in my body – it’s something that has come with age, and has really only happened over the past few years.

“My mentality has played a big part in that journey, and working out has helped because it strengthens my mind, too – I’m not trying to become a muscle woman but, for me, the two things come as a package.”

She went on to explain that she no longer pushes her body after weeks of working.

“I’ve learned not to feel guilty about staying in bed when I’ve spent several weeks at work; I now know how to lie on the beach and just let the day go by.

“For me, it’s all connected – I need a healthy body for a healthy mind and a healthy spirit. I know that what comes from within is projected outwards.”

Naomi established herself as one of the most recognisable and in-demand models of the late 1980s and the 1990s and was one of six models of her generation declared a supermodel by the fashion industry.
