First look at Rihanna’s luxury fashion line Fenty. Rihanna has already broken barriers in beauty (Fenty Beauty) and in lingerie (Savage x Fenty) and now she’s changing the fashion world as the first black woman to run her own luxury fashion brand, Fenty, under LVMH.
Sitting down with T magazine, the singer explains her vision for the company and gave fans a glimpse of some of the designs she’s been working on, which naturally have been inspired by her own wardrobe.
She told the publication: “I use myself as the muse. It’s sweatpants with pearls, or a masculine denim jacket with a corset.”
I feel like we live in a world where people are embracing every bit of who they are. Look at Jaden Smith, Childish Gambino. They dare you to tell them not to.”
The collection will include strong shoulders, corsetry, daring accessories, structured silhouettes, with new drops released monthly because “as a consumer, I hate seeing something on the runway and then having to wait six months for it.”
She adds that Fenty will be as ‘disruptive as possible’, adding: “The brand is not traditional. There is no runway show. It’s a new way of doing things because I believe that this is where fashion is going to go eventually.”
Keeping her commitment to inclusivity, sizes will go up to French 46, which is the equivalent of US size 14.
Rihanna explained: “I’m thick and curvy right now and so if I can’t wear my own stuff then, I mean, that’s not gonna work, right?”
For the first release, prices will range from $200 to $1500. You can grab a T-shirt from $200, while outerwear will run between $1100 to $1500.
Accessory wise, jewelry will run between $350 to $600 and shoes will range from $600 to $700.
