Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green label sold to JD Sports. Liam Gallagher’s clothing brand Pretty Green has been sold to JD Sports.
The label, which the former Oasis singer set up in 2009, has been sold to the high street fashion chain after it went into administration earlier this week.
JD Sports will keep Pretty Green’s flagship store in Manchester open, but 11 other stores and 33 concessions in House of Fraser are set to cease trading.
Executive chairman of JD Sports, Peter Cowgill said: “We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of the highly regarded Pretty Green brand. We look forward to working with the team on future positive developments.”
And the ‘Wall of Glass’ singer seemed unfazed by the news, as he tweeted: “As long as we’ve got our health eh gotta put things into perspective as you were PG I mean LG x”.
Simon Thomas, partner at administrators Moorfields, said: “Pretty Green is a popular brand and received a considerable amount of interest. We are confident that JD Sports is the right fit for the business and will help to grow its online and wholesale channels.”
Meanwhile, this week the first teaser for Liam Gallagher As It Was was released.
The documentary, which is set for release in the UK and Ireland on 7th June, will chart his rise as a solo star.
