Italian national football team suit up with Giorgio Armani. Giorgio Armani has teamed up with the Italian Football Federation for a deal which will see the fashion house dress the Italy’s national teams for the next four years.
The Italian men’s national team will now wear the off-field uniforms which consist of a Emporio Armani suit, shirt, overcoat and kit bag, belt, sunglasses and small leather goods designed by the brand.
In a statement, Armani said: “This agreement makes me particularly happy: I am returning to football after my experience with Chelsea and Bayern, and once again I am dressing the Italian national team, as I did for the 1994 World Cup.”
He continued: “”I am proud to … offer our athletes my idea of soft formality and elegant practicality. I have created a wardrobe that is consistent with my vision, designed for athletes who are constantly on the move. It is another way to communicate Italy’s sense of style to the world.”
Giorgio Armani has always had a close relationship with the world of soprt, football especially.
As well as partnering with some of the biggest club’s in Europe – such as Chelsea FC – to design uniforms, the fashin house has also chosen sport stars as ambassadors to front their clothing lines, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, and David Beckham.
And the men’s national team aren’t the only ones that will be wearing Armani.
Italy’s women’s national team and the under-21’s will also be getting their off-field uniforms designed by the brand.
