Victoria Beckham on celebrating International Women’s Day. Victoria Beckham has signed up to Net-a-Porter’s collective of female designers this International Women’s Day. She has joined Isabel Marant, Ellery, Rosie Assoulin, Alexa Chung and the Perfect Moment to create six t-shirts to support Women for Women on International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2019.
Speaking to Vogue, the fashion designer revealed what International Women’s Day means to her, saying: “To me, International Women’s Day is more than women supporting woman. It’s about men and women supporting, respecting and empowering women and educating future generations.”
Beckham has created a T-shirt bearing her perception of empowerment and female bravery.
Women for Women International is a non-profit organisation that provides moral and practical support to female survivors of war.
Sales from Net-a-Porter‘s 2018 campaign raised enough money to support 170 women through the charity’s year-long training programme.
Beckham explains: “By purchasing this tee, you are supporting a charity that helps vulnerable women living in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Generally, I think we could all start by being a little kinder to one another. Everyone has a duty to support women in finding their voice and surely kindness is a good place to start.”
If there’s anyone who knows about female empowerment and girl power, it’s Victoria Beckham.
