Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend, Sinitta has spoken out and said that she has it on very good authority that the UK version of X-Factor will be axed next year. The 44 year old singer who had music hits back in the 80’s has gone public in an interview with UK entertainment magazine Closer and said that that she has been told by insiders the show will finish next year. X-Factor which has been on the go now for 10 years has turned out stars such as Leona Lewis and Shane Ward. Many believe that since Simon Cowell’s departure to concentrate on the US version, the show has lost its appeal and this is evident in the viewing figures that have declined over the years.

With current judge, Gary Barlow also expressing his own frustration with the show, it is hard to see now, how the show will survive unless Cowell returns to take over the helm and save the show which is very unlikely. However, a source for the ITV show has come out fighting and said there are no plans to axe the show given that is the most successful show in the UK at the moment. They went on to confirm that the current 3 year deal with ITV is due to run out next year but negotiations on a new contract are expected to start after .the current series finishes in December. Sinitta who is still close friends with Cowell might be right given her contacts in the industry and given her friendship with her ex.
