Twitter has been forced to back down and reveal details of a Twitter account holder who has been sending out threatening tweets saying people are going to die at the Broadway theatre staging a one-man show by former heavyweight boxing champ, Mike Tyson. While the tweets have not directly said this tweeter intends to kill any named individual, fears are that Mike Tyson is the main target.

TYSON'S SHOW UNDISPUTED TRUTH

The New York Police Department issued a subpoena after the social network service Twitter refused to co-operate with an investigation into Twitter posts that made reference to the fatal shooting of twelve people last month at a Colorado cinema. The NYPD said the tweets appeared to be aimed at the host and audience for Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, a solo show directed by Spike Lee at the Longacre Theatre in Manhattan.

One of the Tweets read "This s**t ain't no joke yo I'm serious people are gonna die just like in aurora," Another from the same account warned: "I'm in Florida rite now, but it'll happen i promise I'm just finishing up my hit list." Before being forced to comply with the subpoena, Twitter had told the New York Police Department in an email, "We appreciate the timeliness and sensitivity of this matter, and have reviewed the reported Twitter account. "While we do invoke emergency disclosure procedures when it appears that a threat is present, specific and immediate, this does not appear to fall under those strict parameter as per our policies." With America on high alert now since the Colorado cinema killings, it’s no wonder Police are taking all threats so seriously and security will be at an all-time high at the Tyson gig.
