In another exciting collaboration, Topshop has proved why it remains the reigning monarch of high-street fashion with a new collection by none other than quirky and eccentric British designer Louise Gray.

The collection coincides with the launch of her make-up collection with the store, details of which were released back in May, leaving fashionistas with high expectations and eagerly anticipating the release of the collections in their entirety.

Gray is a fashion ingénue of the highest standards, she studied a BA in textiles at Glasgow School of Art and then on to an MA in fashion at Central Saint Martin’s, under the watchful eye of course director Louise Wilson. While there, Gray worked for Peter Jensen, Lanvin and Diane von Furstenberg, as well as scooping the prestigious Lancôme Colour Award for new talent. Having graduated from Saint Martin’s in March of 2007,she then launched her own collection at London Fashion Week as part of the Fashion East line-up.

Both ranges take inspiration from Gray's signature outlandish, and signature eccentric, fun style along with her love of colour and texture. The six-piece clothing collection is comprised of party dresses and separates with the focus on simple shapes in vibrant, clashing colourways, and covered with plenty of sequins.

Gray explained her inspiration for the collection, saying “The dresses and tops are all totally covered in sequins and I made them to go dancing in. My mainline collections have always been about pushing optimism, colour and fun and I wanted to bring that to the Topshop collection as well. I want the Topshop girl to stay out all night in it!"

The Gray-Topshop collaboration is very unique as she has become the first designer to design with Topshop Make Up, creating colourful eyes-shadow palettes, liquid liners and lipsticks with shades named 'Mexican Wave' and 'Up in the Air'.

Highlights of the clothing collection include: a striped lilac shift dress emblazoned with a star-shaped face; a pair of black sequin trousers covered with multi-coloured smiley faces; and a sparkling red collarless evening jacket, peppered with yellow and silver.

No doubt that both ranges will fly off the shelves!

The collection will be available from August 23rd onTopshop.com and in selected stores, with prices ranging from €151 to €252.
