Clarins 3 dot liner- A new generation of liquid eyeliner!

Eyeliner is a staple product for most of us, and yet it can be tricky to use and easy to mess up. I remember reading when I was teenager, probably in Sugar magazine, that the best way to apply it if you had trouble getting a straight line was to dot it along the lashline and then connect them up. Well Clarins have had a stroke of genius and created the perfect product for it - the 3-Dot Liner.

The pen, from their Fall 2012 Collection Ombre Minerale, has a triple point applicator - yes, three nibs, so you can dot it along the lashline for probably the easiest application of a liquid eyeliner you've ever experienced.

Not just good for ease though - you can create all sorts of interesting effects with it. Want a defined eye, but no obvious liner? Just dab the tips right into the lashline to fill in the gaps between lashes for some subtle definition and lash volume enhancement without looking like you're wearing eyeliner at all. For a more sculpted finish the dots can be joined to create a solid line and the characteristic liquid liner look. Alternatively you can use it on your lower lash line to create a really subtle line of dots that really help to define and open the eye without looking too harsh.

Liner used to create a solid line on top and dotted along the lower lashline.

At the other end of the spectrum, you can have a lot of fun with this, especially if you're one for the graphic eyeliner trend this year - try using it to make a three-pronged flick. There are so many different ways to use this liner, depending on the look that you want.

You can bag yourself the same effect with the Too Faced 3 Way Lash Lining Tool or my personal recommendation - Bourjois ‘The Intuitive Liner’, so called because of its foolproof ability to create a line without risk of wobbles or blotches, which also has a 3-tipped liquid liner head but boasts an intense black formula and up to 24 hour staying power.

Have you ever experimented with a triple pointed liner? What do you think of the idea? How would you use this liner? X
