Ciate Velvet Manicure Fall 2012 Collection

If you thought you’d seen it all with Ciate’s Caviar Manicure, think again.

Essie and OPI may be the leaders in nail colour, but Ciate has to be #1 when it comes to innovative (and easy!) nail art. The company wowed us all this spring with their Caviar at-home kit that was the first in 3D manicures. Now, the company has created a velvet manicure kit, making this new nail art trend even easier to master.

Charlotte Knight, Celebrity Manicurist and Ciaté's Creative Director, is bringing crushed velvet into the mix. Matte topcoats were once used to give dark nail colours a "velvet" appearance, but now you can literally get velvet nails with the Ciaté Velvet Manicure Kit. The brand’s nail polish collection delivers a rich pigmentation to the nail with a velvety finish, one that will make your nails steal the spotlight at any event.

Shades available include; Berry Poncho (deep purple), Blue Suede (dark blue), and Mink Cashmere (light grey), the Velvet Manicure kit includes a bottle of polish, a tube of matching velvet flecks, and a mini-brush to wipe off any excess. The finished look is a bold and beautiful matte nail. Definitely the perfect nail art for transitioning into fall!

Now in case you haven't seen this trend before, creating the mani at home is easy:  in the same manner as a caviar manicure, you paint on one coat of your base colour on all your nails and let it dry. Apply a second coat of the base colour, then quickly try to sprinkle the powder over the whole nail. A top coat will change the effect, so it is not recommended to add. Word to the wise: don’t wait around to get your hands on these, as they’re going to go really fast.
