Well we all know how utterly amazing William Tempest is but River Island has now decided to tell the world how amazing it also believes he is.  Tempest has designed an amazing collection for the high-street label's Design Forum – a fantastic project that allows up-and-coming designers the opportunity to display their creations to a very wide audience.  It is an incredible platform for these great artists but sadly we have to wait until October to get our hands on any of the pieces from Tempests collection.

"I've really enjoyed learning how high-street fashion works," Tempest has said. "It's different from anything else I've done before and has different challenges and ways of working, but it's been a great learning experience."

The collaboration idea was invented through British Fashion Council chief executive Caroline Rush as she suggested to Tempest that the pairing would work extremely well. The collection, which will debut via a short film at London Fashion Week's second Fash/On film festival in September, was inspired by Egyptian mythology specifically using the scarab beetle as a key motif.

"I spend quite a bit of my time in the Middle East and found myself in Egypt last September," explained Tempest. "Luxor was amazing, and I've always dreamed of visiting the Valley of the Kings since I was little, so it was a dream come true to finally go. I'm also fascinated with the Egyptomania of the Twenties and so it seemed like a great place to start."

British-born Tempest has some serious fans including Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Rihanna since launching his collection in 2009 and perhaps with this collection he may just add a few more to his list.
