Q.
Hi,
I am going on holidays next week and I am looking for some swimwear. My question is where could I still get swimwear (preferably a good supportive tankini) at this time of year in Dublin City Centre?
Thanks,
Yvonne
A.
Hi Yvonne,
Swimwear can be extremely hard to find in shops at this time of year, but department stores in the city centre are your best bet.
For the best support, opt for a halterneck with under wiring or moulded cups. Debenhams (Henry Street, debenhams.ie) and Marks and Spencers are known for their reasonable but quality underwear and swimwear. These tankinis and swimsuits from M&S also offer innovative “tummy control” which has proven hugely popular with customers.

(M&S)
The ruched detail on this swimsuit from M&S is designed to smooth and flatter curves.
Other great places to look include TK Maxx which boasts a large swimwear section year round, and surf shops such as Quiksilver in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. Independent lingerie shops are a good place of call as many offer fitting services and measuring.
If you are interested in shopping online, this is a great time to do it as you can snap up bargains while demand for swimwear is low. Littlewoods.ie boasts a wide collection of swimwear and cover ups (below) that are pocket friendly and stylish while also providing support and keeping troublesome body areas underwraps.
Hope this helps,
Freya
