It’s been a good week for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The day after Facebook became public, the 28-year-old and his long-term girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, invited some close friends and family to their Palo Alto home in California to a party believed to be celebrating Priscilla’s graduation from a degree in Paediatrics at the University of California.

However, their guests learned upon arrival that it was not a graduation party they were attending, but a wedding. Mark and Priscilla, who had not publicly announced their engagement, updated their relationship statuses to ‘Married’ after tying the knot in the garden of their €5.5million home.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong attended with his wife Adrienne and performed the band's song ‘Last Night on Earth’ for the newlyweds.

Priscilla has been dubbed ‘the Kate Middleton of Silicon Valley’ as her new husband, with a net worth of $19.1 billion, is undoubtedly royalty in the social networking world. She wore a simple yet classic wedding dress by designer Claire Pettibone, while Mark ditched his trademark hoodie in favour of a navy suit.
