SIR PAUL PAID £1 FOR HIS PERFORMANCE

Well how much do you think the London Olympic committee had to pay Sir Paul Mc Cartney to perform at the opening ceremony last Friday night? To see a legendary Beatle perform you would have been forgiven if you thought he was paid a fortune but you would be wrong as Sir Macca only charged one pound to perform. All performers were aware that their services would be donated to the event, but the fee was a way to make the Olympics contracts for performers legally binding.

EASTENDER DIZEE RASCAL ONLY PAID £1 TO PERFORM

Paul McCartney, Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal and Frank Turner were paid just £1 for performing at the Olympic Opening Ceremony.  All acts appearing in Danny Boyle's four-hour extravaganza all agreed to play for free, but had to be charged a token fee so that they could sign a contract with London 2012 organisers. Now these four performers all deserve gold medals for that.
