Gladiator star , Russell Crowe has reportedly split from his wife, Danielle after nine years of marriage, according to leading Australian newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald. The 48 year star who married Danielle back in 2003 at his New South Wales “cattle ranch” is currently filming, Noah in America which is based on the bible story.

Russell and Danielle have 2 sons together, Charles and Tennyson. The split is understood to be amicable between the pair and the boys are to remain with Danielle. Crowe and Danielle first started dating over  22 years ago while on the set, filming The Crossing but split when Russell had to leave Australia to film The Gladiator. He later returned where the couple picked up where they left off and married soon after.

Their split is going to send “shock waves” across the world of celebrities as they were seen as a solid couple who had it all. A spokesperson for the pair said that the “well-being” of their sons is the most important thing right now.
