Irish Philanthropist and Humanitarian, Derek O’Neill hit the airwaves running this week with the launch of his own radio show titled “The Healing Way” on Dublin City FM. Derek, who recently was honoured by Variety International, the Children’s worldwide charity for all his work in raising millions of euro for charities around the world was awarded the prestigious “Humanitarian Award” at the Variety World Conference earlier in May of this year.

Speaking to Fashion.ie, Derek said “My first show which was aired last Monday on Dublin City FM attracted huge attention and interest with the listeners and I took live calls from people on air from listeners as far away as the America looking for help and advice about problems in their life. I just love to help and advise people when I can and I think the show seems to be attracting worldwide interest as well as a Dublin audience”

Derek, who is Ambassador to Charity 25, a registered Irish charity that raises money for 25 Irish National charities via their €2WILLDO text campaign explains that he really enjoys working with Charity 25 as it’s the first time ever in Ireland that 25 charities have agreed to co-operate and work together in helping raise funds for each other at no cost to their organisation, with all money raised via their €2WILLDO text campaign being divided equally between the 25 charities. Derek  goes on to say “I’m proud to be part of Charity 25 and help their sponsor Petfood.ie and patron, the wonderful Mrs Brown (Brendan O’Carroll) raise money as all money raised via the €2WILLDO campaign actually goes to the charities and does not get caught up in administration costs which is important to the people making the donation. I mean, where else can you give to 25 worthy Irish charities in one go for just €2 a month, just a great and simple idea where people in Ireland can help their own people by donating just €2 a month”.
