From Lady GaGa and the runway's in Paris, to Blake Lively to Beyonce, even the very shapely Kim Kardashian is sporting this season's hottest look. It is perhaps the most sophisticated, iconic, wearable and flattering look I have seen in while...and the trend is called.... PEPLUM.
The peplum cut was made famous in the 40's. The nipped in waist that fanned out elegantly over the hips flattered every shape of every lady. The look was made iconic by model Mollie Parnis, who wore a peplum dress in Vogue 1947 (see pic below) and how effortlessly fabulous did she look?
The peplum cut remains the same today, but fashion designers have injected this classic look with this season's hottest colour's. Most have varied the length of the hemlines to modernise the look. I have been a busy bee, out and about investigating the best places to find and buy this trend at affordable prices. Here are a few that I have found.
The plain pink peplum dress below can be easily glammed up using key accessories.

The above dresses Left to Right (Blue Peplum Dress with White Pattern can be found at Dunnes Stores as part of their Savida range. The blue ploka dot peplum dress above can be found at George at ASDA. This pretty floral peplum dress can be found at www.asos.com)
If like me, the legs are a bit too much hassle to shave, wax and buff! GOOD NEWS. You can adapt the style by teaming a pair of plain trousers with a peplum shape top and cool pastel flats. This allows all the yummy mummy's to stay bang on trend with minimal effort. I'v hand picked 2 of my favourite peplum top's below.
Left to Right (This plain soft pink peplum top is available now at River Island, and the deep plum peplum top is available at Oasis). Both tops have incorporated another of this season's trends LACE, so really it's like killing two fashion birds with one stone!

I have my eyes firmly on how amazing Kim K looks rocking the peplum trend, while out for a stroll with nephew Mason.
