I have gotten this dress for my Hollywood/Oscar themed birthday party and I’m unsure what kind of shoes to wear with it.. Please help?!

Hi Marianne,

When it comes to sequinned party dresses, I am always an advocate of pairing them with nude heels. As seen below on Eva Longoria, a nude heel will lengthen the leg and keep the focus on a busy or detailed dress.

As your dress is such a show stopper, run of the mill nude pumps will not necessarily cut it. If you want to make more of an impact, I would recommend you go for either a silver finish to compliment the embellishment or else a light pink patent or suede to harmonise with the fabric of the dress.

In my opinion, it would also be best to pick an interesting shaped shoe, i.e. one with straps or an unexpected detail, to keep the dress red carpet worthy and truely make a fashion statement.
