Designers, fashionistas and staple magazines have always had an affinity for punk rock and the elements that define its signature style, particularly when it comes to the statement studs. Whether it’s a heavy-metal style leather bomber jacket with studded collar, a thick band studded bracelet strap or a bold studded heel giving rise to a sexy stiletto, the heavily studded glamour trend is something that never really disappears from fashion focus.

With official pop and rock chick Roxette making her way back to the Irish stage this year, it’s as good an excuse as any to roll out the studded wear and take your girly outfits to a more dangerous level. Pairing some serious studs with your more sober style can add the perfect amount of edge to your outfit! Even designers have adopted the trend, with Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Balmain and Miu Miu rocking the ideal balance between sexy studs and city chic.

So while we love the studded accessories (who can forget the show stopping stud sensations by Christian Louboutin worn by Victoria Beckham) there have been plenty of celebutantes who have dared to be bad girls and vamp up their looks! 

While we love Katy Perry's flawless face and are left wondering (if we're completely honest) about her choice of hair colour, she rocks this studded black number and we can't help thinking she makes safety pins look cool! Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie Bradshaw rarely gets it wrong and let's face it, when she does, she still does it right. We loved this black studded belt and loved it even more when she paired it with her coat, a pink tulip skirt and more outfits. She was human (kind of) after all! Yay to recycling clothes! 

We reckon Beyoncé isn't the only girl who can get away with studded leggings on a normal day but we're not sure we can all pull off angelic rock quite as well as The Saturday's Mollie King! As for Rihanna, well we love her studded hotpants, her printed jacket and her bellytop. But we'll leave it to her to look effortlessly cool in this attire. We'll stick to admiring her bravery for now!
