Something of an inspiration to budding fashion journalists everywhere, Louise Roe has finally made it big as it was announced last week that the British fashionista has been chosen as US Glamour's new fashion editor-at-large. This announcement comes in the wake of Glamour's overhaul which saw changes to image and overall content.

Speaking to Fashionista, Louise says that “This is honestly a dream job for me. Having started my career working in the magazine industry, it’s awesome to be working with such a huge, brilliant publication in a range of ways including print, online and TV. We’ve got some exciting projects up our sleeves. Bring on fashion week!” Roe will be under close scrutiny as she publishes her first issue in the midst of the fashion industry's most important annual event, Fashion Week.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Louise Roe, she won the hearts of many as the effortlessly stylish Brit who swept into Elle magazine on The City and knocked Olivia Palermo down a peg or two back in 2009. Previous to that, Roe had been earning her style credentials on both sides of the pond, beginning with an internship with British Elle straight out of an English literature degree at Durham University. Working her way up the career ladder with stints on The Clothes Show UK, she graduated to fully-fledged presenter thanks to E! News coverage of The Royal Wedding last year, which eventually landed her her own MTV makeover show for teens, Plain Jane.

Having written for Vogue.com, The Observer, Company and Elle in the past - as well as having collaborated on The Louise Roe capsule collection for Stylistpick AW11 - Louise certainly has a vast amount of experience in the industry.

With US Glamour announcing a greater focus on celebrity news and fashion, the question is whether or not their content overhaul is indicative of their new fashion editor? For while Louise has a sterling set of style credentials to her name, she has always been more of a celebrity fashion journalist, regularly gracing celebrity gossip sites and magazines in America where she is now based.

Whatever her status may be, be it celebrity or fashion journalist, we are all awaiting her first issue as US Glamour's fashion editor with bated breath.
