French footwear guru Christian Louboutin wowed the fashion world yesterday, when he unveiled his pair of Cinderella inspired glass slippers in Paris.

Back in April it was announced that the acclaimed designer would be designing a pair of shoes inspired by Disney’s classic princess, to mark the diamond edition of the timeless animation on Blu-ray and DVD this autumn.

When asked about his inspiration for the exquisite design, Louboutin described his admiration of the fairytale princess saying; “Her character and her story dictated the design to me. It was all there in the pages and the words of this tale. The slipper is the magic wand of transformation which conjures confidence, beauty and love.”

The magnificent glass slippers, a definite collectors item, are a throwback to classic retro Disney,with limited edition red-soled heels adorned in lace, two sparkling butterflies and embedded Swarovski crystals, making this exquisite footwear princess appropriate.

Louboutin, a firm favourite in celebville, with followers such as Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham and Beyonce frequently wearing his chic and distinctive designs, spoke of being privileged to design the slippers saying; "I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world”.

And there’s good news for all us girls dreaming about how beyond fabulous it would be to have a pair of these beauties in our wardrobes, as a competition to win one pair of the twenty original slippers created for the collaboration will shortly be announced!
