I am a self-confessed Betty Boop addict, ever since I was young I’ve had all the paraphernalia, the toys, watches, alarm clocks, bags, posters, and then the permanent kind of paraphernalia, the tattoo. So with the news that Betty  is to star in a new Lancôme film to promote the luxury beauty brand’s new Hypnôse Star mascara it seems Boop isn’t ready to leave me either!

Joann Sfar, award-winning French director, has written and directed ‘Star Eyes’ a film to showcase Lancôme’s new mascara Hypnôse Star in all its excellence. According to Lancôme’s press office; “Hypnôse Star is a concentrate of technology whose dual-faceted brush caresses lashes to boost their volume at the root, while procuring a curl that’s pure Hollywood. Inspired by the world of film, sequin-clad Hypnôse Star is a superstar among mascaras, bringing glamour up to date in a playful way. A star is born!” The ground breaking short film will be an exciting mix of animation and reality, starring Betty Boop and Lancôme Ambassadress Daria Werbowy combining 30s Hollywood cinema with contemporary glamour.

The short film will be unveiled worldwide on July 2nd on Lancôme websites and Youtube with the Lancôme Hypnôse Star available at Lancôme counters from July 1st, priced €26. If Betty’s involved I’m buying! For now, check out this behind the scenes making of Joann Sfar's 'Star Eyes' film.
