Lana Del Rey is without doubt one of those people you either love or hate, get or are at a complete loss as to why she is what she is. When her debut single ‘Video Games’ was released in June last year she literally exploded the music market, you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing THAT song! Her sudden catapult to fame made many question what she had done to warrant so much attention, especially as her music began (and remained) to go down badly with the critics. The fashion world, on the other hand, couldn’t get enough of Del Rey embracing her into the fierce family with Mulberry even creating a bag in her honour. Her ties and affiliation with the fashion industry was the main focus of her interview with Australian Vogue for the October feature.

“It's funny because now people in fashion kind of came to my rescue when other people said they didn't like the record but that was unexpected for me because I was never really into fashion. I never expressed myself through fashion. I loved flowers in my hair. I loved guys who wore leather but I didn't get creative. From the age of about seven I had really specific tastes and that never changed”, she told the aussie publication. What is set to change though is her career path, because in the interview she confessed that music isn't actually where her heart is! “When I was starting I had a vision of being a writer for film and that's what I am doing now. I'm so happy. Hopefully I will branch into film and stay there. That will be my happy place. I said everything I needed to say before I wrote this record”.

Hmmm this all seems a little…sudden would be an understatement. We’ve all heard about quitting when you’re ahead but has Lana really even got started? I can’t imagine Mulberry being overjoyed at the news after creating that bag and putting so much time into promoting it (and her) for the ‘singer’ to now completely disappear from the public eye!
