Pop princess, Lady Ga Ga has been recognised for her peace work as she has been given an award by Yoko Ono. The wife of the late, John Lennon, presented Lady Gaga with the LennonOno “Grant for Peace Award” yesterday in Iceland. The Imagine Peace Tower, whose construction was spearheaded by Ono in honour of her late husband, was first unveiled in Kollafjörður Bay back in 2007.

This prestigious prize also carries financial benefits to by-way of carrying a financial grant of €38,000 ($50,000) that is to be used to help better life of others. Lady Gaga expressed that she will be donating this grant to the Elton John's AIDS foundation, and she will be working closely with them to ensure that the money goes specifically to those orphans and disadvantaged youth in America born with HIV or AIDS.
