What makes a successful collaboration? The creators involved? Or the overall image of the collection? Well if this rumoured collaboration is to go ahead it will be huge, celebrity couple extraordinaire, Kayne West and Kim Kardashian are said to be working on creating a high end shoe line. Kimye has had us hooked on with every public appearance, the coordinated outfits, Kim wearing an item of clothing more than once (hello again leather pants), and most intriguing is Kanye’s ability to get high heel addict Kim into a pair of his  Nike Air Yeezys.

Last week, Radaronline.com reported that 'Kimye' had met with Francois-Henri Pinault, CEO of PPR, which owns brands like Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, to discuss the possibility of starting up a high-end collection with his backing. This won’t be either of the pairs first venture into the shoe world, as already mentioned, Kayne West has worked with Nike on the sell-out Air Yeezys as well as collaborating with Guiseppe Zanotti to produce his own shoes (priced at £3,691 a pair) as part of his fashion label, both being poorly received. Also on West’s shoe CV credentials the shoes he designed for Dion Lee's Resort 2013 collection. In 2009 Kim co-founded ecommerce site, shoedazzle.com, which has already gained $60 million in capital.

And before you feel a ping of embarrassment at your slight obsession with Kimye, even the experts are admitting to their excitement, "The potential is huge. They are both brand names that have separately sold millions of dollars worth of product. Kim knows the shoe industry and it makes a lot of sense. This could be a case of one plus one equals three," Howard Bragman vice chairman of Reputation.com and a longtime Hollywood publicist told WWD.
