Kim Kardashian’s High-Fashion Italian Vogue Photoshoot
Anna Wintour may hate her, but Kim Kardashian still landed the July/August cover of L’Uomo Vogue, the magazines Italian edition for men. Shot in LA’s Chinatown, the accompanying editorial entitled “Just Unconventional” uses Kim’s fame as a storyline, with “photographers” chasing her down as she hides behind oversized shades and a short, Kris Jenner-esque wig. The fashion pictorial was shot back in May, with her beau Kayne West on the sidelines. The accompanying interview also focuses on Kim's celebrity; as the author notes, she was instructed by Kim's publicist to avoid asking about sex tapes, marriages, divorces and other sensitive, tabloid-y topics. What Kim didn't mind discussing, however, was her love of sex, among other things: The interview, which is amusingly translated from Italian, is filled with some great quotes. According to the piece, Kim is “beautiful. Very beautiful. She speaks in a calm voice and uses language well.” She did also mention Kanye, but other than saying she was happy she remained quiet about the details of the relationship. Here are some of the highlights;
On her “Californian lineage”:
“Yes I was born rich; it was a classic Californian lineage: lavishness and ostentation, luxury mansions with pools, private clubs, exclusive friendships, and luxury cars. Despite the affluence, at only 31 I’ve been able to build my own empire in the world of entertainment and, although looks and friendships are important, I want the new generation to understand that if you don’t believe in yourself and in your own ideas, you go nowhere.”
On keeping her relationship with Kanye West private:
“Everyone is always watching me, I’m under constant observation, everywhere I go there’s a camera following me, in the gym, when I do the shopping, and if I decide to go out without make-up it makes news throughout the world. This is why I don’t want to reveal anything about my relationship with Kanye. In the past I suffered a lot because of my honesty, and when it didn’t work I was criticized and treated badly: I can only say that now, with him, I’m happy.”
On her religious servitude, love of sex, and Louboutins:
“I would have liked to be a teacher, I always say prayers before going to bed, I would have liked to spend more time with my dad and speak with my fans. I adore pizza, gelato, and I like making love, I hate cilantro, I have a collection of 224 pairs of Louboutin and I’m scared to death of spiders.”
We have to admit this girl is fascinating.
