Newly divorced and single mum of one, Katie Holmes seems to be on a winning streak since leaving former husband Tom Cruise in June. The actress has officially been announced as the first ever face of cosmetics giant Bobbi Brown, for which she will reportedly earn between $2 and $3 million as she will appear in Bobbi Brown’s ad campaign next spring. By the following A/W (2013), her name will appear on a capsule collection of color cosmetics. 

Bobbi Brown will also be the lead makeup artist at the Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show for Holmes' clothing line, Holmes & Yang, which will make its fashion week debut next Wednesday in New York.

The hugely successful brand, created by makeup artist Bobbi Brown in 1991, offers makeup, skin-care products, perfume and accessories in 60 countries and is owned by Estee Lauder Cosmetics.

Holmes made her first public appearance since she filed for divorce at the 2012 Style Awards, clad in head to toe Carolina Herrera, as she presented an award to the designer. The two chatted backstage before the show with Holmes posing for photos with Herrera, who told the actress she wore her designs "very well". 

Bobbi Brown confirmed the deal, explaining “this all came together eight weeks ago, when Katie and I were introduced by a mutual friend.”

 “We had tea in the afternoon, and we bonded,” Brown told WWD. “And then it was, ‘Oh, my God, you would be the perfect face for Bobbi.’

“We weren’t looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she’s just ridiculously, naturally beautiful.”

“This is my first foray into beauty products and the evolution of a look,” says Holmes, who is known for her low maintenance and natural look, which she shares with Brown, along with a Midwest upbringing. 

Holmes, 33, whose divorce from Cruise became final on August 21, is also back acting, with an appearance on Broadway this Autumn in Theresa Rebeck's five-character "Dead Accounts", while she recently shot an adaptation of Chekhov's "The Seagull." 

The actress is building quite a name for herself in the fashion industry, with her reputation doubtlessly being boosted by both her fashion line and the Bobbi Brown campaign, and is currently residing in one of the fashion capitals of the world, New York with her daughter Suri.
