Hi Kate,
I'm just wondering is it a fashion NO NO, to wear a jumpsuit to a 21st birthday, it's a double 21st and it's going to be a big and dressy affair?? Any advice, i would really appreciate it? I'm 20 years old!

Hi Deirdre,
Jumpsuits have been one of the most popular fashion trends this year and it would definitley not be a NO NO for a 21st.
The best thing about a jumpsuit is the fact it can be as dressy or casual as you want to make it!
Jumpsuits have also become a celebrity favourite both on the red carpet and off because they are flattering and easy to wear.
Take inspiration from the above and think carefully about accessories, if you are wearing a black jumpsuit gold jewellery can look great and give it a bit of bling. If on the other hand it is a bright colour or strong colour you may not need accessories as the colour will do the talking!
For the dressy look then heels are an absolutle must but it’s the height that’s important here not the wow factor of the shoes, you don’t want your shoes to stand out and take away from the cut and shape of the jumpsuit. On wide legged jumpsuits your shoes will only be visible when you walk, on a tapered leg a shoe- boot, like Jessica Stroup (above), or a simple black court shoe would be perfect.
Also remember they can be dresssed down by wearing a pussybow blouse or t- shirt underneath and a pair of flats for a daytime look, so after the big event you can get plenty of wear out of it. Just pop on a little jacket if its chilly and you’re good to go!!
I really hope this helps Dierdre, if you already have your jumpsuit but you are unsure how to dress it up please feel free to contact me again and I will try and put together a few ideas.
Thanks a million for writing in, hope you are enjoying the content on Fashion.ie. Enjoy the party!!
