I'm going to a college graduation ball in October in a really nice hotel. Only thing is I haven't a clue what to wear.Is this an evening dress affair or something to the knee or so?

A. Hi Sarah,

A College Graduation ball is generally a dressy and formal occasion. While there is no written rule that those in attendance should wear long dresses, they are extremely popular as it is a memorable occasion and an excuse to get glammed up. Likewise, a shorter cocktail style dress is also a perfectly acceptable option.

The style icons you mentioned, Cheryl Cole and Selena Gomez, always appear polished and sophisticated on the red carpet. Selena generally opts for neutral colours, simple shapes and demure sweetheart necklines or spaghetti straps.
