It doesn’t feel that long ago that I was kicking up a fuss at being forced to wear wellies in the rain as a kid. How uncool were they? It was almost as socially mortifying as being the only child on the road to wear a helmet when cycling my bike. Obviously I understand the well-intended reasons now but at the time it was a fashion crisis to say the least. But over the last couple of years, wellies have started to become quite the fashion staple, having been introduced back into the funky fashion world with the growth in popularity of the summer music festivals! (Pity we can't say the same for helmets...) 

But with the Irish summer looking like it might just be as unpredictable as ever, it seems the old fashioned Wellington boot has made it out of the festival fields and stylishly landed on the high street! The old favourite of blue-coated Paddington Bear has now become a funky fashion accessory rather than the dreaded rain necessity and are worn by the masses!
