FASHION WINNERS AT LIMERICK RACES

Jillian Gilburn, Newcastle West, Co, Limerick was the winner of Limerick Races Ladies Day competition on Ladbrokes Munster National yestersday. Jillian wearing a Charlotte & Jane 1940’s green dress won a fabulous diamond ring presented by Keanes Jewellers, Second prize of a Shiseido hamper wearing a cream and black outfit from Penneys was won by Kellie McGrath for Birdhill Co. Tipperary and 3rd place to Emer Nash from Castlemahon, Co. Limerick wearing a vintage cream dress and lace top won a clothing voucher from Isobel’s Boutique Adare. Jillian’s 2 girls Sheila Jessica & Margaux were also dressed for racing to compliment their mother’s outfit.

Limerick Ladies impressed our ladies day judges with spectacular vintage fashion. “I am blown away with the standard and attention to detail that the ladies have put in to their outfits today, it was a very difficult decision to select a winner but Dawn and I felt that Jillian’s looked stunning and reflected the theme of the day.”  Triona McCarthy speaking after the winner was announced. A crowd of 6729 turned out to watch the great racing action with Raz de Maree winning the feature race The Ladbrokes Munster National and Zuzka and Ruby Walsh won the Fergus O’Toole Memorial Novice Hurdles. The other big race of the day, the PriceWaterhouseCooper Steeplechase first past the post was Down in New Orleans. In addition to the racing action, crowds enjoyed a fashion show by Isobel boutique and also the post racing entertainment on two floors with Sean O’Dowd playing in the restaurant and Jigabite on stage in the Munster Suite.  Younger race goers enjoyed the fun of the Kids party bus, pony rides and bouncy castles on a beautiful crisp autumn day.
