Come Friday May 25, the Design Centre will host a one-of-a-kind fashion show. With highly esteemed Irish designers such as Louise Kennedy and Peter O'Brien involved, it's a fashion show set to extol the talents of our homegrown designers. As with any fashion show these days, there is always 'a hook'. In this case, that very hook is principal designer, Mia Keaveney, who at only eleven years of age has organised what will be the charity fashion show of 2012.

All in the name of Crumlin Hospital, Mia is looking to raise funds for a charity so very close to her heart. As a long-standing patient in their ophthalmic and orthopedic units, the need for renovation and expansion of ophthalmic and orthopedic waiting rooms and clinics in the hospital comes as the result of personal experience. None of this would have been possible without a little help Mia's mother Sally, who happens to be the Managing Director of International Orphan Aid Ireland.

A novel idea, it is a concept that could only be formed by a child. Its media success so far however, is down to PR maven Sally, who surely understands the importance attached to a strong media campaign. Five months of planning will culminate in a fashion show that will see Mia's couture designs on the runway, interpreted by the Irish designers involved. With Xpose's Lisa Cannon acting as MC for the night and Irish music sensation Ryan Sheridan as the after party entertainment, it will be an event for all ages and interests.

Speaking to fashion.ie, designer Louise says, "We are so delighted to be involved with such a special event in aid of Crumlin Children's Hospital. Mia and her team have done a fantastic job in organizing what is sure to be not only a memorable evening, but an evening of purposeful collaboration, which strives to ensure Mia raises the funds required for the refurbishment of the children's orthopaedic unit. As a team, we value the importance of this worthy cause and we look forward to supporting Mia in achieving this goal. I also wish Mia every success with her personal ambitions as she continues to nurture her design talents and budding fashion career".

For while Mia’s designs, interpreted by Louise Kennedy and Co., will hit the runway this coming Friday, her very own label, Miamoo, will make its grand debut. A night for Crumlin Hospital, Mia can seek pleasure in the fact that she will also be one in a long list of stellar Irish designers raising money for such a profound cause.

Tickets are priced at €35 and can be purchased here. For more information on 'Thank You Crumlin, Love Mia' or to donate to this worthy cause, see www.thankyoucrumlin.ie.
