Almost all Irish females have found themselves growing up in polyester jumpers, pleated skirts and knee length socks in murky shades of maroon, grey and green. It is therefore no wonder that the thought of being free to make your own sartorial choices each morning seems so exciting.
With college comes a new routine, exciting opportunities and self-discovery. What also comes is the revelation of having a wardrobe full of clothes……but nothing to wear.

For an adaptable and well-stocked student-friendly wardrobe, staples are key. Ensuring you have the basics covered will see you from lectures right through to impromptu student bar gatherings.
Firstly, banish all thoughts of Gossip Girl and similar American college sitcoms from your head; in Irish reality, it is best that your clothes are comfortable and practical, but with a stylish twist.
Here’s a basic guide on how to get the foundations of a great college wardrobe.
Jeggings
Great fitting jeggings are essential in everyone's wardobes thanks to their versatility; pair with a cosy knit lazy days or with a silk shirt for after-class drinks. Invest in black, navy and a neutral colour such as beige or tan and they will see you right through to summer.
