For those of you who, like me, find logging on to netaporter.com first thing to view ‘What’s New’ as exhilarating as the first coffee morning hit, you can imagine my delight on viewing the Agent Provocateur for Charlotte Olympia shoes today!
Charlotte Dellal, the shoe maestro behind the Charlotte Olympia brand, last year lent her stylish eagle eye to AP’s ad campaign, this year they’ve collaborated on the Soiree line. There are two styles to choose from, both sky high platform styles. The ‘Candice’ is a pretty blush-pink shoe, featuring delicate tulle pom poms dusted with Swarvovski crystals. The Bellatrix is a black, patent leather platform featuring naughty gold zip detailing. It also features a hint of the lingerie label's trademark shade of pink. Shoe porn?!
The reason for the collaboration is to raise funds for the Seven Bar foundation, which raises awareness and funds to fuel microfinance which aids women out of poverty.
“I love the nostalgic allure Agent Provocateur evokes which complements our shared visions and feminine brand sensibilities. I wanted to create shoes that could be worn in and out of the bedroom,” explains Charlotte Olympia.
This isn’t the first time the shoe designer has collaborated with an internationally acclaimed designer however; she has previously worked with Alice Temperley and Clements Ribeiro. Charlotte launched her shoe line just 5 years ago in 2007; her shoes are handmade in Italy and finished off with her signature gold spider’s web on the sole. Her work has become synonymous for her 2 inch floating island soles, fan detailing and use of leopard print. She can count SJP, Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively amongst her biggest fans.
For me what sets Charlotte Olympia apart from her competitors is that her shoes are actually comfortable, honestly, the floating platform counter balances the high heel, protecting your feet from dipping downwards. Heaven.
‘The higher the heel, the better you feel ‘Charlotte Olympia Dellal'
