The Style of Dublin Celebrity Fashion show in aid of ABII was a grouping of Dublin's elite who gathered foremost to raise money for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, but the event in question was a very well-organised exciting event, a fantastic way to conclude the Dublin Fashion Festival. I enjoyed seeing the Debbie Allen troupe of Dancers frolick on the catwalk to 'Diamonds are a girls best friend' to get the show underway. I had previously attended a fashion show in '37' on Dawson Street a month ago and the whole bohemian vibe of the venue is very inviting.
Fran & Jane, Alila and American Honey attire grabbed my eye big time. The style was mesmerising. The shimmering floor length frocks worn by the sexy 'Dublin Housewives'. Jo Jordan and Virginia Macari caused quite a stir when they locked lips on the catwalk. The 'Dublin Housewives' ladies looked very glam and reminiscent of the Desperate Housewives actresses stateside. Dublin Housewives will be hitting our screens very soon but at the moment they seem all loved up! The whole night was eventful to say the least. Brian Kennedy and Mickie Joe Harte sang some tunes, Brendan Courtney - who curbs Irish style in question - was the MC at the event and kept everyone entertained. The fashion show showcased some of Ireland’s top models and hottest celebrities storming catwalk. Top model and former Miss Ireland Emma Waldron starred and looked every inch a siren. Roz Flanagan looked very chic on the catwalk. The attire modelled was from Lara Boutique, American Honey and Alila.
I caught up with Calum Best at the bar with a lovely lady on his arm. They looked pretty smitten. He complemented my necklace made of gummy bears! Apparently it looks good enough to eat. A few people tried to nibble it throughout the night.
The glamour at the event wasn't just confined to the catwalk. Many attendees were wearing tight wet-look leather jeans, sparkly stilettos and backless tops, As well as hair pendants, peplum dress, vintage inspired silhouette dresses and maxi-dresses. You can emulate these looks with www.miinto.ie. It is where I do the bulk of my shopping these days. A lot of Irish Celebrities bought their outfits on the site. It is for men and women. The males at the event were quite formal in suit and crisp shirt combos. The event was a roaring success and raised a significant amount of money for worthy cause Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.
'Maximising Ability, Changing Lives...'
Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is a strong advocate for the estimated 10,000 people per year who experience an ABI in Ireland today, and is constantly seeking improved support services for those with ABI and their families. Make sure to check out their site.
Until next time.
