Brit Awards 2012

Fresh off her big win at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, Adele continued to add more statuettes to her collection by winning big at this year's BRIT Awards. The "Rumour Has It" singer swept clean her nominations by grabbing a total of two coveted prizes. She also sent the engagement rumours into overdrive when she wore two rings on the same finger of her left hand, one of which appeared to be a simple band was quickly overshadowed by the chunky yellow teardrop stone. We hope this is true!!

There was a downside to the evening though. During her second acceptance speech, the singer was approached by host James Corden and asked to cut short her speech. He said, "I'm so so sorry, I can't believe I'm going to do this," Adele, who seemed to have more to say replied, "Can I just say, then, goodbye and I'll see you next time round?" Before exiting the stage, she raised her middle finger to the camera. It was a gesture that managed to overshadow the prizes at the Brit Awards. And really not the classiest move on Adele’s part. The organisers of the Brits have since apologised to the record-breaking star and Adele has also apologised to her fans.

Also taking home an award was the very gracious Lana Del Rey. The Internet sensation, who received a lot of backlash lately for her shaky performance on "Saturday Night Live", was named International Breakthrough Act at the event. Other winners included Coldplay (Best British Group), One Direction (Best British Single), Foo Fighters (Best International Group), and Bruno Mars (Best International Male). Outstanding Achievement Award went to Blur, and Critics' Choice Award was handed to Emeli Sande.

Now let’s get to the really important part, what they wore! Lucky for us, this year's crop of styles have come in a rainbow of colours: Rihanna is done up in gold, Kylie Minogue is stunning in blue, and we'll give you one guess what shade Adele opted for once again.

Another winner, Rihanna, took the stage to collect the coveted Best International Female in a cleavage-bearing encrusted gown from Givenchy Couture with formal leather gloves. The recent birthday girl turned plenty of heads. Which, of course, is completely understandable! She’s also the “Only Girl” who can make dark roots with blonde hair look amazing.

Victoria Justice was the next best dressed on the BRIT Awards red carpet. We loved the Nickelodeon star’s playful black leather cocktail dress.

Pixie Lott should dress like this more often. The singer channels old-school glamour in Dolce & Gabbana.

Kylie Minogue looks stunning in this fabulous blue strapless YSL number. The Aussie singer knows what works for her figure — and how to work it!

Fearne Cotton goes for a more playful aesthetic in a white top and black skirt. We particularly loved her sheer heels.

We were delighted to see Lana Del Rey in something other than her signature white dress. This strapless Vivienne Westwood gown reminds us of Julia Roberts' amazing red dress in Pretty Woman.

Although Adele is the epitome of glamour and poise in her floor-sweeping chiffon gown it’s all we’ve seen from the pop star. Adele, you won Album Of The Year and you’ve just covered the March Issue of Vogue! Why not spice things up a bit with some colour?

Nicole Scherzinger is a delight to behold in a stunning sherbet column gown by Versace. This yellow is fantastic against her skin tone.

Florence Welch matches her dress to her skin in this custom made peach Alexander McQueen creation.

Caroline Flack adopts her usual androgynous chic aesthetic and surprises no one in this shorts and blazer combo.

Abbey Clancy showed off her enviable legs in a pink 60s style micro mini.

While Jessie J was certainly turning heads in this lacy, red gown, this sheer look is something we’ve seen a million times from the “Price Tag” singer. We much preferred Jessie’s silver dress and sleek ponytail from the Grammys earlier this month.
