Well here we go!  The best adidas Originals collection since the Stella McCartney and Jeremy Scott collaborations.  This all comes from the celebration of the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games.  Adidas Originals is teaming up with New York retailer Opening Ceremony in order to put their own twist on celebrating iconic silhouettes of the sports and lifestyle brand and create a fantastic premium capsule collection. The campaign features amazing models such as Xiao Wen Ju, Camille Rowe, Jordan Torres, and Shane Gibson.

The Autumn/Winter 2012 collection embraces the unbelievably artistic prints, shapes and silhouettes of ’90s sportswear.  Remember?  Individually each piece can certainly hold its own and create some serious Olympic adrenaline in all of us non sports enthused people who consider running for our early morning coffee a hard core workout.  You know it’s true!    

The ‘very in the moment’ and mainly unisex collection combines sartorial elements of swim and cycling with a slick street attitude.  Footwear features unisex jelly sandals and printed neoprene water-socks, the traditional Samba trainer, along with a bold new BMX-style high-top sneaker with subtle printed sole. The line is made up of 70 apparel pieces and 20 footwear styles for both men and women and ranges from $75 to $630 for apparel pieces and $140 to $275 for footwear styles.

Don’t despair because for outside of the USAthe first adidas Originals by Opening Ceremony capsule collection will be available globally to selected fashion accounts as well as adidas Originals and Opening Ceremony stores in July and August 2012. 

For sassy ladies the style brief is tight and bright and sexy body-con dresses in printed neoprene hug curves.  You may wish to opt for bike shorts which come with decorative zippers which add a sport-inspired edge.  Maybe you will select a neoprene halter top with trompe l’oeil collar which naturally ensures lot’s of skin is on display perhaps teamed with pleated nylon mini-skirts which are edged in a reflective fabric for a show stopping effect.  Then again ladies there is the option of trying a dry-swim spandex peplum dress which injects a chic look.
