Spider Man actor James Franco is giving the term multi-tasking a new meaning.
Last year, Franco was given creative control of Los Angeles denim brand Seven For All Mankind’s multimedia campaign. Now he will turn his hand at designing; his 7FAM x Franco t-shirt range is set to launch online and in store on September 6th to coincide with Fashion’s Night Out.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the range of four t-shirts are "adorned with printed Polaroid images taken by Franco during the filming of his fall campaign for the Los Angeles-based denim maker". The designs, priced at $89/€71 a pop, will also feature his signature on the hem.
As for his campaign for the brand titled ‘Hollywood Resurrection’, the inspiration has been an amalgamation of “old and new icons and landmarks.” Lily Donaldson, Lou Doillon, Henry Hopper and many more sun-kissed and beautiful models dressed in on-trend metallics, printed snake skins and coated denim feature in the film exploring the later-life of Franco’s muse Rudolph Valentino, silent film actor and original “sex symbol” of the 1920s.
Speaking about his campaign, Franco stated
"The big thing I am trying to access is memory and how we deal with memory, what that means, how we remember people and who creates the lasting images of people. We all have our connections to people who we admire and it's my own way of examining my own connections."
The behind the scenes of Franco’s autumn/winter 2012 fashion film can be seen here.
It seems that Franco, a talented actor, writer, artist, Oscars host and New York University film lecturer is a master of all trades.
